Protocol tips

Upstream tips
Reliable for Sensitive transcription of both high-copy and low-copy messages.

Reverse Transcriptase is active
across a range of 37–55°C, with greatest activity at 37–42°C

Publication protocol

RNA extracts were treated with RiboLock RNase inhibitor (final concentration, 1 U μl−1; Fermentas) prior to reverse transcription-PCR. For synthesis of cDNA from extracted RNA, the GoScript reverse transcription system was employed according to the protocol of the manufacturer (Promega, Madison, WI) using random hexamers.
