Then plasmid DNA was extracted from the transconjugant colonies using a HiSpeed plasmid maxikit (Qiagen). E. coli DH5α cells were transformed with the extracted plasmid. The Etest dry-strip technique was used to determine the hydrolytic activities of the J53 transconjugants and DH5α transformants.
